GDC 2010 registration opens
|
Registration for next year's GDC in San Francisco has opened, with a host of new pass options and an expanded summit line-up.
The event shake-up includes reduced conference pass prices, with optional lunch deals, with a total of eight genre focuses, including: AI, Game Localisation, Mobile, Independent Games, Education, iPhone Games, Serious Games and Social/Online Games.

New Ubisoft Toronto studio expected to create 800 jobs
|
Ubisoft is set to open a new development studio in Toronto which is expected to result in the creation of 800 jobs.
The studio has been invested in by the government of Ontario, which will put CAD 263 million into the project over a ten year time frame - that's on top of the half a billion CAD Ubisoft expects to invest. Operations within the studio, which will work on triple-A Ubisoft titles, are expected to begin in late 2009.

Namco Bandai secures Dragon Ball rights for 5 years
|
Publisher Namco Bandai has secured the US publishing rights for the Dragon Ball Z franchise for five years.
The agreement is for all major consoles and handheld systems, beginning in January 2010, but the publisher has also secured rights to release three Dragon Ball Z games by the end of this year.
